Vector
files are made up of lines and arcs and can be resized with no
loss of quality. The most common file formats that are vector
based are: .eps, .ai, .cdr. If your art is in any of these formats
it doesn't guarantee they are vectorized, but most likely they
will be.

Rasterized
files are made up of tiny squares called pixels or dots. The better
the quality of art, the more "Dots or Pixels" it will
have. This is referred to as DPI (dots per inch). Rasterized art
is more difficult to enlarge without losing quality. You must
first have original art in at least a 300 dpi resolution, and
then there are still limitations on how large you can go before
you start losing quality.

Most common file formats that are rasterized are: .jpeg, .tiff,
.psd, .gif, .bmp.
